Message from H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada
Minister of Energy and Industry, State of Qatar
Ministry of Energy & Industry
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome the energy industry players and stakeholders to Qatar for the inaugural edition of the Doha International Sustainable Energy Conference and Exhibition.
Qatar is currently enjoying a golden era of prosperity that is the culmination of years of a visionary leadership and reinvestment of hydrocarbon revenues back into Qatar’s economy. Qatar, not only one of the world’s leading gas and clean energy exporters, it is also one of the most attractive economic destinations for investment in the Middle East, with significant business opportunities, a unique investment climate and a booming economy.
Message from Sheikh Mishal Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Conference Chairman
Doha International Sustainable Energy Conference 2018
Fellow Energy Professionals,
As Chairman of the first Doha International Sustainable Energy Conference, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in this promising the event. Energy is the lifeline of our communities and sustainable energy is therefore the lifeline of our future. It is for this reason that we have given our enthusiastic support to the Doha International Sustainable Energy Conference and Exhibition. We therefore encourage you to come and join the Gas, Power and Energy industry here in Qatar.
Recent years have seen a steady rise in levels of energy demand in the GCC due to population growth, urbanisation, growing GDP and industrialization, a trend that looks setto continue for years to come. To meet this rise, power generation capacity needs to expand at an average annual pace of8% between 2017 and 2020. The global outlook for energy demand is similar, with a focus on energy security, energy sustainability and low-carbon solutions. What we are witnessing is a steady transition to clean energy where natural gas, LNG and renewables are playing and will continue to play an increasingly important role. The opportunities are enormous.
IES (International Exhibition Services) announces the appointment of Alain Marhic as new Commercial Director to further expand their growing portfolio of energy exhibitions and events. Alain Marhic’s arrival coincides with the launch of the Doha International Sustainable Energy Conference and Exhibition which is fully supported of the Ministry of Energy and The State of Qatar.
The conference will take place in Spring 2018 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) on the 19th – 21st of March 2018, www.dohaenergyexpo.com. Its aim is to be a meeting point for the professionals of the gas value chain, renewable energy and environment. 300 exhibitors and over 1,000 delegates are expected to take part in this most anticipated event.
